(VIDEO)Activist Eric Omondi Arrested While Protesting Outside Parliament
On Tuesday afternoon, comedian Eric Omondi organized demonstrations outside Parliament buildings, causing a commotion.
The self-proclaimed activist, accompanied by a group of protestors, staged pickets against the 2024 Finance Bill.
However, the protests were cut short when police officers intervened to stop the escalating demonstrations.
Officers intervened and arrested the comedian, who continued to shout while attempting to rally the protestors.

In the videos that have since circulated online, the protestors can be seen holding large placards as they call on Members of Parliament to intervene in the controversial bill.
During the demonstration, the protestors, the majority of whom were women dressed in sack clothes, accused legislators of betrayal despite claims that they were planning to pass the Finance bill into law.
To vent their frustrations, demonstrators strewn twigs along the main road leading to the parliament building as they sought MPs’ addresses.
Following his arrest, the comedian was detained in a room within the parliament buildings before officers began questioning him.
It is not the first time the controversial joker has been arrested; in February of last year, Omondi was also arrested for leading protests against the high cost of living outside the parliament building.
Eric Omondi was among the activists who blocked Parliament Road in an attempt to force the government to lower the price of basic commodities.
Officers stationed in the buildings were forced to fire tear gas canisters at the protestors before arresting the comedian.
“Welcome aboard Eric Omondi, more people will join our change movement – the cost of living is too high,” Narok Senator Ledama Olekina said.
