‘ONLY Women With Over 3 Children Should Use Contraceptives!’ – Senator Khalwale Says

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has advised against the use of modern contraceptives, claiming they are being used to limit Africa’s population.

The Senator stated that a woman should have at least three children before considering birth control options.

Khalwale told the Senate on Thursday that modern contraception is commonly used by Kenyan women.

However, there is an urgent need for increased public knowledge and education about their implications and repercussions.

The Senator was replying to Senator Hamida Kibwana’s call.

Kibwana urged the government to improve access to contraception in order to reduce the rising number of unwanted pregnancies and abortion-related difficulties.

Khalwale responded to Senator Hamadi by challenging her to use the tools available to guarantee that access to contraception is not exploited, abused, or misinterpreted.

“Contraception by way of modern methods is foreign to us, the owners of those methods, who had an original intention of controlling the population of black Africa,” the Senator revealed.

“Therefore, as we allow our women access to these contraceptives, we must accompany it with adequate education.”

Khalwale raised an alarm about the impact of fertility on women, claiming that before a woman may begin using contemporary contraception, she must first have at least three children to protect herself from the prospect of failing to conceive.

“I firmly believe that a woman who should take contraceptives should first have a minimum of three children,” the doctor alleged.

The senator, who is also a medical practitioner, advocates for the use of traditional contraceptives.

He emphasized their role in safeguarding cultural rights and providing family care to help women avoid unplanned pregnancies.

Modern contraceptive use in Kenya has increased dramatically over the years, with more women using family planning methods to manage and avoid unplanned births.

While it is widely used, women are concerned about the adverse effects of these contemporary contraceptives.

According to research, women who experience adverse effects are more likely to discontinue their contraceptives, raising worries regarding long-term fertility.

Some women experience delayed conception after discontinuing some contraceptives, notably injectables, which might take months for fertility to return to normal.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health is aiming to increase access to modern contraception.
