KJSEA: Education Ministry Announces School Placement Results Date
The Ministry of Education has announced that grade 9 students who took the 2025 Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) will be able to learn about their respective senior schools within the next two days.
Education Principal Secretary Julius Bitok declared on Wednesday, December 17, that Grade 10 placements would be issued by Friday, December 19, 2025.
According to Bitok, students will be able to find out which schools they have been assigned to by texting their assessment numbers to 22263.

The PS made the statement while addressing delegates at the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) National Delegates Conference, which was held at the Kasarani Gymnasium in Nairobi.
In his speech, he also highlighted teachers’ roles in implementing education reforms, particularly Competency-Based Education (CBE).
He also congratulated the teachers on the successful administration of KJSEA, urging continued collaboration as the country prepares for the historic transition of the learners.
“I assure KNUT that the Ministry is fully seized of matters affecting Junior Secondary School, including domiciling and teacher contracts, and that ongoing consultations are guided by the best interests of learners, teachers and the education system,” Bitok said.

Meanwhile, Bitok’s declaration comes a week after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced the start of student placement at institutions based on their preferred courses.
CBC divides learners into four career pathways: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Social Sciences and Arts, and Sports Sciences.

Speaking during the release of the KJSEA exams on December 11, Ogamba noted that of the 1,130,459 candidates who sat for the examinations, 59.09 per cent demonstrated the potential to pursue the STEM pathways at senior school.
He further stated that 46.25 per cent had demonstrated the capacity to pursue the Social Sciences, while 48.73 per cent had shown the capability to pursue the Arts and Sports Sciences pathway.
Ogamba added that the learners would be placed in their senior schools based on their performances and their selected pathways in line with the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms.
