The latest incident comes amid a surge in insecurity in several parts of the country, including muggings, robbery with violence and murder cases, particularly during this festive season.

However, the Ministry of Interior on December 17, announced a raft of enhanced security measures to safeguard lives and property as Kenyans.

To ensure the safety of all Kenyans, authorities have activated a coordinated, multi-agency security plan to ensure public safety throughout the season.

The multi-agency approach includes the activation of the National Multi-Agency Command Centre (NMACC), which will oversee surveillance, intelligence sharing, and rapid response operations before, during, and after the festive period.
