ODM’s Millie Odhiambo Warns Politicians Against Online Analysts
Millie Mabona, the Minority Whip in the National Assembly, has cautioned politicians to avoid relying on internet political supporters.
She said that the online perception caused several lawmakers to lose in the by-elections on November 27, 2025.
The ODM Member of Parliament stated this on November 28, in a message uploaded on her social media accounts.
She urged politicians not to base their political analysis on the opinions of internet followers or commentators.
“There is one thing I keep telling my friends, especially those who ordinarily appear very knowledgeable and informed but somehow lose it over and over: kindly do not base your analysis of politics mainly on online supporters or online commentators,” the MP advised.
The Member of Parliament said that online political analysis contributed to the opposition’s loss in the Kasipul by-elections.
She asserted that Boyd Were, the ODM candidate who won the polls, was supposed to lose.

“According to online commentators, Honourable Boyd Were had lost by kilometres. Listen to literal ground,” Millie wrote.
The Minority Whip stated that she does not engage with online opponents because they tend to mislead.
“I hardly engage online opponents who have a major following countywide, because on the ground, things are different. Sometimes they do not even feature from far like pepper,” she further explained.
Her words follow the ODM party’s victories in Magarini, Kasipul, and Ugunja during the by-elections.
However, the ODM party was defeated in the Kariobangi North by-elections, which were won by David Warui, the DCP’s MCA candidate.
