Shiners High KCSE Candidate Stabbed To Death By Fellow Student

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate in Nakuru died on Sunday morning as a result of injuries sustained during a scuffle with another student the night before.

Confirming the occurrence, Gilgil Deputy County Commissioner Willy Cheboi stated that the terrible tragedy occurred during the ongoing national exams.

The candidate, who attended Shiners’ Boys High School in Nakuru, was confirmed dead at Nakuru Level 6 Hospital.

The police have subsequently launched a manhunt for four students, including the one who stabbed the candidate and three others.

According to reports, four students disagreed about personal goods damaged at school, which sparked the disturbance at around 8:00 p.m.

Earlier, police said they were pursuing the four students who fled into thickets following the evening incident.

According to Gilgil sub-county police commander Winstone Mwakio, the four accused had received suspension letters from the school for disciplinary violations.

“The four had been suspended for indiscipline cases,” stated Mwakio noting that the indiscipline in the school was wanting.

When the four returned to sit for their KCSE examinations, they discovered that their personal possessions had been destroyed.

They assumed the deceased was responsible for the destruction and attacked the victim, injuring him with knife wounds.
