Limuru Chaos Forces Gachagua To Cancel 2 Nakuru Events
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has reportedly canceled his intended attendance at a funeral in Molo and a church event in Pipeline, Nakuru.
The postponement comes days after suspected goons sparked disruption at a funeral in Limuru.
Former Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has ascribed the decision to cancel the activities to increased security fears.

Wiper’s leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, has also described the event as state-sponsored, though official sources have not confirmed government involvement.
“Despite the statements from both the Inspector General of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, and the Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Mohamed Amin, that the chaos was due to ‘a lack of advanced intelligence’ and that former Limuru MP Mwathi and area MCA Christopher Ireri were not in their custody, the evidence is irrefutable: This was a state-sponsored attack and abductions,” he said.
The incident occurred on Thursday, while former Limuru MP Peter Mwathi was addressing mourners at Bibirioni Boys High School in Limuru, when unknown men began tossing objects and chairs, causing mourners to flee for safety.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua attended the funeral, and his automobiles were damaged.
Mwathi’s wife, Dr Anne Mungai, had previously alleged that her husband’s vehicle was trapped between two Subaru vehicles, causing him to be hauled away, as she asked for his release.
“Mine is just to ask for the release of my husband because he went to a funeral, he has attended many other funerals in Limuru. He has served the people of Limuru diligently and he was abducted by force,” Dr Mungai stated.
“The vehicle that he had gotten into so that he could get out of the chaos was sandwiched by two Subarus that had no number plates.”
On Friday morning, DCI called Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa and other politicians.

“We wish to clarify that the National Police Service did not arrest Hon. Peter Mwathi, and he is not a person of interest to the Police,” she said.
This comes after Senators Karungo Thangwa (Kiambu) and his Nyandarua counterpart John Methu said that the ex-Limuru Member of Parliament was arrested by police during the procedure.
The two, who were accompanied by other leaders at DCI headquarters, stated they were there to find his location but had not been helped.
