Following a two-hour search, EACC officers swiftly left Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya’s home.

The officers were forced to board police landrovers amid heavy security, with cops firing tear gas to disperse the gathering.

The EACC officials left behind eight damaged automobiles that they had driven to the property in Kitale’s Milimani Estate.

It took the intervention of Hospital Ward MCA Eric Wafula to calm down the agitated mob outside the residence, allowing the EACC team to depart.

Governor Natembeya was not present, but his assistant claimed it was unclear what the officers stole from the home.

“We just saw them leaving as angry crowds surrounded the home,” said the aide.

He claimed Natembeya would make a statement in Nairobi.

Angry locals vandalized multiple vehicles as armed EACC and police officials invaded the property.
