CYRUS JIRONGO: Caleb Amisi Raises Patent Questions Around Ex-MP’s Death
Caleb Amisi, a Saboti Member of Parliament (MP), has questioned the murder of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo on Saturday, December 13, 2025, along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
According to Amisi’s statement, put on X on Monday, December 15, Jirongo left Karen at 11:30 p.m. that day after spending time with long-term friends.
Men who, according to his testimony, had known him for decades and had witnessed him drink and drive home safely for years, even in considerably less forgiving times.
There was nothing on the surface to indicate that this night would end differently from countless others before it.
A person leaves karen at around 11.30pm ,bids goodbye to his drinking buddies of many years, who have seen him drink and drive safely to his home for many years ,even before the cold war ended. But somehow this day was different, it was not normal alcohol since it directed him…

However, Amisi claims that this night was different.
Not because of recklessness, but because something about the alcohol or the situation was different.
Jirongo, who knew his routes well, is claimed to have driven past his usual turnoff and continued effortlessly down unfamiliar roads.
He took the Southern Bypass, traveled through Kikuyu and Limuru, and cut through the Kinungi region, where mist may be treacherous.
He even drove through Gilgil in the middle of the night, spotting bumps, bends, headlights, and passing other cars without incident.
For over three hours, the journey was smooth and controlled, hardly the image of a man paralyzed behind the wheel.
The legislator pondered why it wasn’t until Jirongo arrived in Naivasha that he understood something was wrong: this was not the way home.
At that point, Amisi notes, he needed to turn back. The timing matters.
A proper independent investigation must be carried around this Karai accident. It is wrong for the driver of Climax bus to come out first to speak before the police conduct and officially communicates on the incident.

Kenya needs a renaissance
By then, it was around 3:00 am, an hour Amisi metaphorically describes as a shift change for “devils working overnight”, a dark, symbolic way of pointing to danger, vulnerability and the unexpected.
At a petrol station, as Jirongo attempted to turn, there was allegedly a “jam” of vehicles ahead of him that he had not overtaken earlier.

As he tried to overtake at this point, an oncoming bus carrying 65 passengers appeared.
The bus driver, according to explanations offered, claimed he deliberately chose to ram into Jirongo’s vehicle to “save” the passengers from a drunk driver.
”The driver of the oncoming bus carrying 65 ‘people’ saw him and decided he needs to hit this drunkard to save the rest, a very brilliant decision as per his explanation, but what happened to the cars on the jam that he was trying to overtake?” Amisis posed.
“Both drivers seem to have agreed to square their difference without cropping in other cars on the said jam.”
