KUCCPS Publishes Reviewed Cut-Off Points For Degree Courses

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced the cutoff points that will be used to place applicants who took the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations in degree programs for the 2025/2026 academic year.

These cutoff points are the lowest cluster points achieved by the final student admitted to each program during the 2024 KUCCPS placement cycle.

The cutoff criteria vary year to year, based on the demand for a certain course, an institution’s capability, and overall candidate success in national tests.

According to the research, highly competitive courses like Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Science continue to have high cutoff scores.

This was especially visible at renowned institutions like the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

At the same time, KUCCPS reported a small reduction in cutoff points for various humanities, education, and basic science courses at some universities, allowing more students to achieve degree places.
