This came when a bus carrying 32 passengers from Kitengela to Nairobi CBD was reportedly halted by a gang of angry boda boda riders.

This happened a year after a similar event in Kahawa Wendani involving Gilbert Thuo Kimani, a middle-aged man from Murang’a County.
The dispute arose over a Ksh 30 fare difference, with the conductor demanding Ksh 80 while Gilbert insisted he only had Ksh 50.
As the bus travelled toward Kahawa Wendani, the conductor allegedly opened the door and forcefully pushed Gilbert out.
This caused him to die on the spot from multiple fractures, including broken ribs and limbs.
