'I Learnt From Newspapers!' - Ndindi Nyoro Speaks On Chair of Budget Committee Dismissal

“I am Fine And Well!” – MP Ndindi Nyoro Responds To Viral Arrest Claims

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that he had been arrested, terming the reports false and misleading.

The MP broke his silence after a viral post from a Facebook page circulated widely online, claiming that he had been arrested amid rising tensions in his constituency.

The post, which began circulating on Thursday, March 12, alleged that Nyoro had been arrested and linked the alleged incident to political tensions between him and the Head of State.

The alleged video purported to show the lawmaker being arrested by people who seemed to be the police, a claim that quickly sparked debate and concern among social media users.

However, Nyoro moved to clarify the purported claims, stating that the circulating information was inaccurate and that the video being used to support the claims was old.

According to the legislator, the footage being shared online dates back to 2019 and has been taken out of context to create a misleading narrative.

Ndindi Nyoro went ahead to assure his supporters and the country that he was safe and continuing with his normal activities.

He revealed that he was scheduled to preside over the launch of three laboratories at Karemaini Secondary School the following morning as part of development initiatives in his constituency.

“We’ll be launching triple laboratories at Karemaini Secondary School in the morning,” Nyoro wrote.

“We have no idea of the motive of the inaccurately circulating information; the video is from 2019. I’m fine and well. Thank you, everyone, for your concern.”

The latest reports come amidst the lawmaker’s recent constant criticism of President William Ruto’s administration, questioning the government’s fiscal policies and economic management.

Just two days ago, Nyoro expressed his opposition to the establishment of the National Infrastructure Fund, saying it could open the door for more borrowing instead of promoting genuine development projects.

Speaking on Tuesday, March 10, the vocal MP stated that the country is currently borrowing about Ksh1.5 trillion annually.

He warned that the growing debt continues to increase the financial burden on Kenyans.
