Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay Suspended Over Doping Violations By AIU

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has suspended Gudaf Tsegay, a two-time long-distance world champion, for four months after she failed to register for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for a banned medication.

The 29-year-old Ethiopian tested positive for a Letrozole metabolite, a banned chemical, in an out-of-competition test in early December, the AIU announced on Friday.

She was notified of the anti-doping rule infraction in late January, and in mid-February, she filed a TUE application with World Athletics.
