Nairobi Set To Host Another Global Summit After France-Africa Success
President William Ruto will meet world leaders in Nairobi this October for Kenya’s maiden Global Trust Summit.
The high-level international conference seeks to restore public trust in governments, institutions, and democratic processes.
The summit, set for October 22 and 23, will bring together Heads of State, senior government officials, corporate executives, civil society organizations, academics, media representatives, and young people from all around the world.

The conference was organized by a local university in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.
It will focus on what organisers describe as a growing global crisis of trust affecting governments, public institutions, the media, businesses and digital platforms.
According to the organisers, the summit seeks to create practical solutions for restoring confidence between citizens and the institutions that serve them through dialogue, collaboration and policy reforms.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said that Kenya was taking a leading role in efforts to strengthen trust in public institutions.

“Kenya has taken the bold decision to convene the Global Trust Summit in Nairobi from October 22 and 23, 2026,” Mudavadi said.
“This Summit is not another international conference. It is a strategic diplomatic and governance initiative.”
He noted that the summit aligns with Kenya’s commitment to advancing transparency, accountability and effective governance while positioning the country as a leader in conversations on democratic reforms.

The summit will also focus on strengthening information integrity, democratic institutions, intergenerational governance, trust as an economic asset, and the future of multilateralism and international cooperation.
Ahead of the October meeting, the State Department for Foreign Affairs has begun consultations with more than 20 Kenyan regulatory institutions to develop reforms and commitments that will be presented during the summit.
Organisers say one of the expected outcomes will be the adoption of the Nairobi Declaration on Global Trust.
The Declaration will outline shared principles and voluntary commitments by participating governments and institutions to strengthen public trust.
Kenya hopes to position Nairobi as a global centre for discussions on governance, institutional integrity and public accountability, while reinforcing the country’s growing diplomatic profile on international policy issues.
