Kenya’s David Munyua Heads Back To PDC World Darts Championship
Kenyan darts star David “Why Not?” Munyua is heading back to the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Darts Championship.
This comes after Munyua secured qualification for a second consecutive appearance.
The Nairobi-based veterinarian booked his place after edging fellow Kenyan Evans Njuguna 8–7 in a tense African Darts Group North African Qualifier final in Nairobi.
The contest went down to the final leg, with Munyua keeping his composure to win the deciding 15th leg after the two players had battled to a 7–7 scoreline.
Munyua had earlier made his way to the final with a dominant 6–0 quarter-final victory over Okalany Robert Clegg before overcoming Peter Wanjii 7–5 in the semi-final.
The qualification gives Munyua another chance to compete on the sport’s biggest stage after his memorable debut at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Munyua made history at the tournament as the first Kenyan player to feature in the PDC World Championship.
He then produced a major upset in his opening match against 2024 World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker.

After falling two sets behind, Munyua fought back to win the match 3–2. His comeback included a spectacular 135 checkout.
His energetic walk-on to the hit track Mwaki also quickly made him a favourite with the London crowd.
With another trip to Alexandra Palace now secured, Munyua will once again represent Kenya and the continent on professional darts’ biggest stage.
