Muturi spoke at a press conference in Nairobi about two people who died tragically after going missing in Mlolongo.
Two families of three missing boys were devastated on Thursday when they learned that their loved ones’ bodies had been discovered at the Nairobi Funeral Home, previously City Mortuary.
“I’m not aware of any policy that supports abductions,” Muturi said. “Abductions have been happening, and we are trying to normalise it. Surely, it cannot be business as usual.”
The CS then addressed President Ruto directly, urging him to put an end to abductions, as he had pledged in December 2024.
He added, “I’m calling upon the government. The buck must stop somewhere. To the President of Kenya, I’m calling upon you now to put an end to these abductions, as you promised.”
Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has called for urgent discussions regarding ongoing abductions in Kenya, expressing sympathy for the parents of both past and present abductees.

Muturi also criticized security agencies, accusing them of failing to safeguard Kenyans despite their ability to do so.
“I want to say we cannot be told the police do not know. Our police are known to be very efficient in these matters. If they wanted to, they would crack this case,” Muturi insisted, adding that the fight against abductions must be ‘taken to the next level’.
While encouraging Kenyans, particularly young people, to continue speaking out against abductions, Muturi also urged human rights organizations, notably the Kenya Human Rights Commission, to put more pressure on the government and the President.

When asked if he was concerned about his position on the public service docket, Muturi downplayed fears that he could lose his job, instead focusing on the abduction case.
“The issue of my resignation or not… It suffices that I sit in government, and I am calling on the government, whose head is the President, that this matter of abductions must be discussed,” he said.
Hussein Khalid, Executive Director of Haki Africa, also addressed the press conference, shedding more light on the whereabouts of the missing Mlolongo men.
The human rights group director stated that the missing individuals were four, not three, as earlier reported.
