Controller of Budget Lauds County Governor For Excellent Development Record

CoB Margaret Nyakango, addressing in Nyamira County on Friday, urged other governors to follow suit and use development funds allotted in their budgets.
“The governor of Narok, I can tell you, is number one in development and number one in revenue collection. These are my figures, and I can confirm them to you here,” said the Controller of Budget.

The Controller of Budget oversees implementation of the budgets of both the national and county governments.
Nyakango noted that her agency closely monitors county budget allocations and the implementation of those budgets by governors and their executives.
“We are happy today that you have come to join us here in Nyamira,” added Nyakango.
The Controller of Budget has, in her reports, warned governors about allocating cash to development while keeping expenses below 30%.
According to the most recent CoB report, Narok and Homa Bay counties ranked first in terms of development.

Narok absorbed 90.3% of its development funding, while Homa Bay received 86.3%.
