BOMET: Elderly Woman Burned By Worshippers Over Suspected Witchcraft
In a terrible occurrence, attendees at a church in Kapkwen Bomet County set fire to an old woman on Saturday in an attempt to cleanse her of so-called ‘evil’ things.
The Bomet followers claimed that they discovered the elderly woman with ‘evil’ things such as snakes and frogs and that they needed to burn her to eliminate them from her body.
In a disturbing video shared online, church ushers headed by the pastor placed the woman in the middle of a field before tying her up.
While the congregation laughed and watched, other ushers lit a fire to burn her in.

Once the fire was started, one usher held the woman’s legs while another held her hands and rotated her over the flames.
Meanwhile, members of the congregation could be heard chanting prayers.
“She came to church with her fellow witches and she had evil possessions,” one of the congregants said.
“She had snakes and frogs plus some evil spirits. Luckily, the pastor was able to pray for and remove all those possessions.”
“To get them to come out completely, we had to take her outside and burn her. There is no way we could have left her with them, yet she came to us for help,” the congregant continued.
The old woman did not die but was seriously injured.
In addition to the snakes and frogs, the pastor revealed the discovery of books and other stuff, including people’s hair, which they believe she utilized for witchcraft.
Following the unusual episode, police had to close the church.
The police discovered that, in addition to burning congregants, the church canes them as part of an exorcism practice.
