Gachagua Makes Major Announcement About His Party
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has declared that former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi will be a key figure in his party, which will be formed in May.
Speaking on Weru TV on Sunday, the former deputy president claimed that the party would be revealed shortly.
However, a subsequent launch celebration will be conducted, with all Kenyans invited, before the end of the month.
“Linturi will have a very big seat in my party that I will be launching soon. I will be unveiling the party shortly, and then we will have a very big launch before the end of the month. It will be a colourful and big launch,” he stated.
“We will invite people to come from all over the country. It will be a national party. It will represent every Kenyan and will have the face of Kenya. It is a good party.”
According to Gachagua, the party intends to field candidates in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s impending by-elections.

Following the elections, Gachagua said that party representatives would go on a statewide tour to promote the party and recruit members.
He stated that the party’s aim will be to familiarize itself with Kenyans rather than revealing its manifesto, which will be released before the 2027 General Elections.
When asked whether former President Uhuru Kenyatta will have a position in the party, Gachagua responded that he would just be used to provide guidance.
“Uhuru Kenyatta is our leader; he is retired, and we want to allow him to enjoy his retirement,” Gachagua stated.
“What we need from Uhuru Kenyatta, constantly, is his blessings and advice. When we do that, it’s always available, but we don’t want to disturb him.”
“I see Ruto sending his cronies from Rift Valley to insult him, but we want to tell William Ruto, ‘You insulted Uhuru enough,” he added.

“Do not send those young people. Be man enough and insult Uhuru Kenyatta, and then we will face you. Let him enjoy his retirement.”
During the interview, Gachagua announced his presidential campaign for 2027 with the sole goal of unseating President Ruto.
He also claimed that his fellow opposition movement leaders, including Martha Karua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, and Fred Matiang’i, will compete for the same job.
However, just one would be picked as the flagbearer, bringing together all of their followers with the goal of winning by a 70+1 margin.
