‘We Are Not Intimidated!’ – Slain MP’s Son Sends Bold Message to Father’s Killers
Boid Were, Ong’ondo’s son, said during his funeral service at the MP’s residence in Oyugis that his father’s murder would not deter them from carrying out his will for the constituency.
“First of all, as a family, we are not intimidated, we can’t be intimidated. Mzee was fearless, and what I am sure of is that he never raised a coward,” fearless Were said.
“So for those who thought that by eliminating Dad they were intimidating us and would succeed, that won’t happen.”
Boid insisted that his father’s death would not affect the family’s plans for the Kasipul constituency, assuring them that he was qualified to take on the position.

“Lastly, I want to tell the people of Kasipul, I will not abandon you, I am with you. Mzee might be gone, but I am here,” he continued.
The family spoke in unity, demanding fast justice for the murdered MP and urging authorities to hold those responsible accountable.
They insisted that their father’s killers be brought to justice without delay or compromise.
They emphasized that the authorities should go beyond arresting the executors and instead seek out the masterminds behind the crime.
The family believes that only apprehending the planners will bring true justice.

“Thank you very much for your support. When we lost Dad, we were very low and sad, but because of your support, we are now strong,” said Pascal Were, another son of the MP.
“One thing I’d like to request is that he gets the justice he deserves.”
The MP’s daughter, Immaculate Were, also offered an emotional homage to her father.
While in tears, she bid Ong’ondo farewell, remarking that she had lost her best supporter barely a month before his prayer day, which he was supposed to attend.
Both wives commended the MP for his love of not only his family but also the people of Kasipul.

They asked the politicians present to continue supporting the constituency and to guarantee that the programs he had initiated did not stall as a result of his passing.
On the evening of April 30, 2025, Ong’ondo was ambushed and shot to death in what authorities believe was a targeted attack.
According to police and eyewitness reports, the MP’s car was struck near the City Mortuary junction on Ngong Road.
The investigation into his murder is still underway, with nine persons arrested thus far.
