Former Isiolo CEC Reportedly Abducted, Abandoned In Nairobi
Attempts to impeach Isiolo Governor Abdi Guyo have become unclear, with allegations of intimidation and kidnapping leveled against those calling for his removal.
A former county official was allegedly abducted and injured, and members of the Isiolo County Assembly are now concerned for their safety.
On Saturday, sixteen of the 18 MCAs paid a visit to a former county chief executive officer who is being treated at a hospital in Nairobi.
MCAs who support the motion allege their lives are at risk as a result of allegations of the abduction of a former county CEC who was discovered abandoned in Ruiru.
“He was found some twenty kilometres away from Ruai. I think they threw him there thinking that he was dead. God is great; he is not dead. He had multiple fractures,” said one of the MCAs.

NGEC Chairperson Rehema Jaldessa added: “I would like to condemn in the strongest terms possible the heinous goonism, intimidation, and abduction.”
Some MCAs claim they were forced to go into hiding, fleeing for their life and being hunted by armed gunmen late at night.
“Tumefuatwa kuanzia saa tano, tumekimbishwa, tumeenda hadi Iten, Uasin Gishu, hiyo barabara yote tumefuatwa mpaka hapa. Mwenzetu alikua abducted na kupigwa vibaya. Tunalani hiyo kitendo,” said Burat Ward MCA Nicholas Lorot.

Godana, the Sericho Ward MCA and the motion’s sponsor remarked that they are unable to use their phones and are continuously on the run, likening their situation to that of war victims.
The MCAs charge the governor with inadequate leadership and misappropriation of public monies.
They say to have endured his administration for three years and find it difficult today.
The MCAs insist that they will continue their campaign to remove the governor.
