Gender CS, Sudi Speak Out After Assault At The Kutit Festival
On Saturday, August 10, a frightening video emerged of a man physically attacking a woman at Nairobi’s Kutit Festival, which celebrates Kalenjin culture.
Since then, the video has gone viral on social media, causing widespread indignation, particularly because no one interfered to defend the woman, who has since been identified as Bella Comedy.

Among those who responded to the assault was Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, who ordered the suspect, a popular social media personality, to surrender to the police station.
Hanna Wendot, the Gender Cabinet Secretary, also criticized the event, stating that her ministry does not condone any form of violence, harassment, or assault on women and girls.
She verified that the Gender Ministry had begun, claiming that it was a clear breach of the Constitution’s fundamental rights and freedoms.
I have watched a deeply disturbing video of an assault against a young woman, identified as Bella, during the Kutit Festival at the Carnivore Grounds.

We condemn in the strongest possible terms, any act of violence, harassment or assault on women and girls . Such acts are not…
“I wish to assure the survivor of this incident, and the public at large, that the Ministry of Gender, Culture and Children Services is working closely with the relevant law enforcement agencies to ensure this matter is investigated expeditiously,” she stated.
“The perpetrators will be held fully accountable under the law.”
In the now-viral video, the culprit is seen grabbing Bella’s hair and striking her in the stomach as she attempts to free herself.
Meanwhile, observers remained motionless, despite a woman’s voice questioning why the men were not interfering to defend her from the assault.
According to reports, the man accused Bella of tarnishing her reputation online by spreading a story about a supposed child born out of wedlock.

During a TikTok live session following the attack, the victim criticized the assault, alleging that she was still physically wounded and was concerned that her uterus had been injured.
“You said that I have soiled your name online, but did you report me? You should have reported me if that was so. Why are you beating me? How many people have reposted your story? Am I the only one?” she quipped.
“I have not even posted anything about that child. My content is that I am doing it after it trends. I cover trending things only.”
She also mentioned that she was waiting for a P3 form so that she could travel to the hospital.
