Azziad Nasenya Sues Sacco Over Ksh20 Million Property Dispute

Content creator Azziad Nasenya has filed a case at the Commercial Court in Nairobi in a bid to stop the auction of her Ksh20 million house in Kileleshwa.

Azziad filed a lawsuit against a Sacco to stop the upcoming auction of her Kileleshwa apartment, alleging she is at risk of losing her property despite having paid off her outstanding loan arrears.

The media personality claimed that she legally purchased the property through a financing agreement with the deposit-taking savings and credit society.

“Consequently, the 1st Defendant prepared the charge dated June 12, 2024, over the suit property to secure the disbursement of the agreed amount to the vendor of the suit property.”

“The court will note that recital ‘B’ of the charge expressly states that the 1st Defendant, as the chargee, would not call for, sue for, or require the repayment of the loan under the charge outside the time specified by the charge,” court documents stated.

According to court documents, Azziad claimed that the Sacco was attempting to recall the entire loan amount and directed the auctioneer to dispose of the apartment, claiming that it was illegal and premature.

According to court documents, Azziad became a member of the financial institution after making regular monthly contributions, which granted her access to credit facilities.

Azziad alleged that after identifying the property in Kileleshwa, she applied for financing from the Sacco and was granted a loan of Ksh20,389,720 to acquire that property on April 14, 2024.

On April 16, a loan agreement was finalized, and the apartment was charged to the institution in June 2024 as security for the facility and was thereafter transferred to her name.

According to court documents, Azziad had started repaying the loan and had paid Ksh897,924.68 by the time the dispute arose.

“However, like most Kenyans, the Plaintiff fell into arrears in repaying the loan due to the current economic hardships, with the arrears amounting to Ksh1,510,035 as of September 2025,” part of the statement read.

Azziad alleged that the Sacco later deducted Ksh2.45 million from her savings on September 19, 2025, clearing her arrears.

She said that she was shocked after auctioneers on September 24 put the property up for sale on October 8, 2025, over an alleged outstanding sum of Ksh21.88 million.
