Multiple-Vehicle Traffic Accident Near Engen-Makongeni, Thika
A car accident near Engen-Makongeni in Thika involved two public service vehicles and a private car.
The crash, which occurred on Sunday, November 9, 2025, sparked alarm among adjacent vehicles as rescue workers and well-wishers rushed to save the victims, as seen in photographs circulating on social media.
Ambulances arrived on the site, treating the injured and sending some of them to local hospitals for further care.

Police Warning During The Festive Season
The accident occurred shortly after Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja issued directives to police officers ahead of the holiday season.

Speaking on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Holy Family Minor Basilica in Nairobi, IG Kanja urged personnel to remain attentive as the high traffic season approaches.
“May I state that the festive season is fast approaching. This is usually the most challenging period, requiring a more vibrant approach in matters of security and traffic flows,” Kanja said.
Police are still monitoring the situation at the Engen-Makongeni crash site, and further developments are expected.
