NYS Issues Notice To Alumni Over Upcoming Police Recruitment

The National Youth Service (NYS) has released a public statement encouraging all ex-NYS graduates to rigorously comply with the amended standards for the Kenya Police recruitment, which is set for November 17, 2025.

The announcement comes after an update to the 2025 Kenya Police recruiting Advertisement, which added NYS Headquarters as an additional recruiting centre.

According to a statement issued by the NYS Employment Liaison Office, ex-NYS personnel will be recruited mostly at the NHU Grounds, which are located off Thika Road opposite the Utalii Hotel.

The explanation is intended to assist former service members who may have been prepared to report to Ruaraka.

According to the communiqué, the Ruaraka centre will now only serve ex-NYS candidates with a valid NYS Discharge Certificate.

The agency also reminded applicants that they must meet all of the requirements specified in the official Kenya Police recruitment announcement.

The advice also asked candidates to download, complete, and deliver the Police Constable Application Form, which is available through an internet link mentioned in the notice.

Given the short notice of the notification, the document emphasized the need to complete these preparations ahead of the recruitment date.

In an extra advisory letter, the Employment Liaison Office recommended ex-NYS members to report to their individual sub-counties first, as stated in the national recruitment announcement.

Inspector-General Douglas Kanja announced the recruitment exercise on November 4, 2025.
