Babu Owino Breaks Silence on Health, Confirms Recovery
Babu Owino, Embakasi East Member of Parliament, has assured the people that he is healing well after undergoing a medical operation due to a health issue.
In a statement released on Sunday, December 28, the congressman stated that the overwhelming concern of Kenyans has been critical in allowing him and his family to manage the tough period.
However, he did not identify the medical operation he was having or the severity of his condition.
Owino stated that he felt it was vital to educate the public about his health and that he plans to resume his legislative duties in the new year.
“In the spirit of openness and honesty that should guide all who serve the public, I wish to share that I recently underwent a medical procedure following an illness,” Owino said.

“By God’s grace, I am now on the path to recovery, and I remain hopeful and determined to resume my public duties in the new year,” he added.
The lawmaker also expressed his prayers and sympathy to Kenyans who were unable to celebrate the festive season with their family at home due to diseases.
Owino emphasized the necessity of Kenyans keeping united in their religion, compassion, and shared humanity, especially during this time when others are unable to celebrate the holiday season due to illness or poverty.
“As I heal, my heart is especially with all Kenyans who have spent this Christmas season in hospital beds, away from their loved ones,” the MP said.
“I pray that God grants you healing, renewed strength, and comfort, and that your families are filled with hope during this challenging time.”
“No Kenyan should ever feel alone in suffering, and no family should be driven to despair because of illness or poverty,” he added.
“We must continue to stand together, bound by faith, compassion, and our shared humanity.”
The MP’s response comes after widespread speculations that he had been hospitalized in a Nairobi hospital under mysterious circumstances, raising fears among Kenyans.
In a brief post two weeks ago, the MP acknowledged Kenyans’ concerns and verified that he was ill and recovering.

In recent months, the vocal lawmaker has been the subject of nationwide attention.
Particularly, following the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, with sections of Kenyans tipping him to succeed Raila as the ODM party leader.
A recent poll by Infotrak also appeared to suggest the Embakasi East MP was highly favoured among the public as the man to take over as the new ODM kingpin.
