Gov’t Announces Public Auction For Unclaimed Vehicles, Household Items

Five firms in Nairobi and one in Kisii County are preparing to auction vehicles and other household items that have remained uncollected at various facilities, including police stations.

In a February 27 gazette notice, Windsor House Auctioneers stated that if many motorbikes and vehicles standing idle at the Buruburu police station are not claimed within the next 60 days, they will be auctioned off.

The motorcycle models are TVS, Boxer, King Bird, Toyota Ipsum, Toyota Alphard, and Haujin.

“Owners of the said properties at the said police station within sixty (60) days from the date of this publication, upon payment for the cost of this publication, failure to which Windsor House Auctioneers shall sell by way of public auction without any further reference to the owners,” it added.

Finally, the Ikimwanya auctioneers stated that they will sell off any motorcycles that remain unclaimed at Kisii’s Nyamache Police Station during the next 30 days.

Some of the motorbike models are Bajaj, Boxer, TVS, TVS Star, and Honda.

Bemac Auctioneers has stated that if the owners do not claim a Toyota Land Cruiser from Unique Plant and Auto Solutions Garage on Road C off Enterprise Road in the Industrial Area during the next 30 days, the vehicle will be auctioned.

The Nairobi Connection Services Auctioneers have also stated that if a Mercedes-Benz remains unclaimed at Supertouch Auto Center, Dar es Salaam Road, it would be auctioned.

If the car’s owners fail to claim and pay all storage charges, as well as the auctioneer’s fee, the vehicle will be sold at public auction or by treaty within 30 days.

The items include a juice mixer, chairs, computers, extinguishers, a computer, a CPU, PDQ, a generator, a Haier microwave, a Ramtons soda fridge, chip cutters, hand-wash basins, flower pots, sodas, and milk, among others.
