'We Will Surveil You!' Murkomen Warns Former Military Officers

Murkomen Goes After Eldoret City Goons, Orders MASSIVE Crackdown

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has directed police and county security teams in Uasin Gishu to crack down on what he described as a growing culture of impunity and hooliganism.

The CS’s comments come following reports of a surge in incidents of crime and the use of political goons in Eldoret City, Uasin Gishu County.

Murkomen said it was deeply troubling that rising cases of goonism were being reported in the region.

He was speaking on Saturday, March 28 during the funeral of Mzee Elkana Terigin in Cheptiret, Uasin Gishu County.

He noted that the trend was particularly concerning, given that Uasin Gishu is home to President William Ruto, stressing that law and order must be upheld without exception.

The CS vowed to use his authority to ensure security is restored, warning that criminal elements operating under the guise of political protection would not be spared.

“I have directed the county security team that no one will be favoured or treated as special. This is the President’s backyard, and we must decisively deal with all goons,” Murkomen said.

He further raised concern over criminal gangs targeting accident victims along roads in areas such as Cheptiret, calling for enhanced police mobility and operations to curb the incidents.

At the same time, he responded to the developments around the mass graves that were found in Kericho County.

CS Murkomen revealed that six people have been arrested so far and that they will be charged in accordance with the law.

Even so, Murkomen castigated the County Government of Nyamira, particularly the management of Nyamira Referal Hospital.

The CS said that its management was part of a clandestine operation that the government is currently investigating regarding the mass graves.

Additionally, he disclosed that preliminary findings in the Kericho mass grave case indicate a possible collusion between Nyamira County health officials and the caretaker of Makaburini Public Cemetery in Kericho County.

“What happened is not acceptable. There was a court order for the disposal of bodies from Nyamira County Referral Hospital, and that order had the exact number of bodies to be disposed of. That was not supposed to be done in darkness,” Mukromen said.

“The County Government of Nyamira, especially the one in charge of that facility organised in a clandestine manner a burial that happened in an improper manner. They have all been arrested, and they will be charged.”
