DCI Releases Chilling CCTV Footage Of Assault On Senator Osotsi
Harrowing CCTV footage has emerged capturing the moment Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi was violently attacked inside a Kisumu hotel.
The four-minute clip, which has since gone viral on Wednesday, April 8, shows the senator pinned to the floor of what appears to be a small café, with multiple attackers closing in on him from every side.
Osotsi, identifiable by his striped shirt, is seen trying desperately to shield himself as three to four individuals attack him simultaneously, slapping and kicking him repeatedly while he cries out for help.
Blood droplets are clearly visible on the white-tiled floor, a chilling detail that underscores the severity of the assault, as the senator lay overwhelmed and unable to defend himself against the group.

The attackers appear to move in a coordinated manner, cutting off all possible escape routes and surrounding the senator from multiple angles.
One individual dressed in dark clothing is seen stepping closer toward the senator, appearing to strike him directly, while another dressed in a full white attyre stands nearby boxing him in as the brutal attack continues uninterrupted.
Moments later, in the midst of the confrontation and violence, the Senator is seen being dragged on the floor several times.
Four restaurant staff members in waiter uniforms eventually rushed in to intervene.
They placed themselves bravely between the senator and his attackers in a determined attempt to bring the violent situation under control.
Their intervention quickly drew the attention of more people inside the establishment, with a growing crowd joining the waiters in shielding the senator and pushing back against the assailants surrounding him.
Following the assault, Senator Osotsi was rushed out of Kisumu and airlifted to Nairobi, where he is currently receiving medical attention, with the full extent of his injuries yet to be officially confirmed.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage across Kenya, especially among the political class, with many leaders condemning the act of aggression against the senator.
Siaya Governor James Orengo stated the attacks are aimed at silencing the Linda Mwananchi rallies, which are set to be held in various parts of the county, where Senator Osotsi will play an Instrumental role.
“This is a clearly coordinated and organised pattern of intimidation aimed at silencing the voices of the people, coming as a second direct hit after the violent assault at the Grand Royal Swiss Hotel on the eve of our Kakamega Rally,” stated Orengo.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino also condemned the attacks, putting all the blame on the Ministry of Interior for unleashing state violence against Senator Osotsi.
On the other hand, the Linda Mwananch arc-nemesis Suna East MP Junet Mohamed also condemned the attacks, calling for the speedy arrest of those liable.
“I condemn the dastardly assault on Vihiga County Senator Hon. Godfrey Osotsi in Kisumu,” stated Junet.

“Those who planned the attack, alongside those who carried it out, must be quickly arrested and arraigned in a court of law.“
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations into the matter.
Detectives stated that they will rely on the just resurfaced CCTV footage, but still maintain that the motive behind the attack is yet to be established.
“At this stage, the motive behind the attack has not been established,” stated DCI.
“Our detectives are actively pursuing very crucial leads following a detailed forensic analysis of the available CCTV footage.”
