GPO Huduma centre serves as the main centre or headquarters of Huduma Kenya, spearheading all 59 Huduma Kenya’s services across all Huduma Centres in the country.
With the disruption hitting the engine of Huduma Centres nationwide, some of the regular but pivotal services to be affected are, delayed processing of national identification cards, including new applications, replacements, and collection, affecting citizens needing IDs for essential transactions.
Additionally, passport application services and document verification processes will likely face interruptions, slowing travel plans, job applications, and international engagements that rely on the timely issuance and validation of official travel documents.
On the other hand, business registration, licensing, and renewal services offered through Huduma Centres will also be affected.
This will, unfortunately, disrupt entrepreneurs and companies seeking compliance, permits, and smooth continuation of their commercial operations across Kenya.
Access to government services like NHIF, NSSF, KRA PIN updates, and birth or death certificate processing will be limited, inconveniencing Kenyans who depend on Huduma Centres for integrated public services.
In response to the disruption, Huduma Kenya has apologised to affected customers, stating, “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.”
The agency says it understands the inconvenience experienced by citizens relying on timely access to public services at the affected centres.
Huduma Kenya has assured the public that technical teams are actively addressing the disruptions to restore all the services as soon as possible.

This is not an isolated incident. A few months ago, concerns were raised after a number of Kenyans reported being unable to access their eCitizen accounts.
The complaints, which first surfaced on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), detailed users’ inability to log in despite providing accurate login details.
Besides login issues, some users reported that they could access the portal but that their personal information had mysteriously disappeared from their profiles.
This left them in a precarious situation as they attempted to complete critical tasks such as payments and passport applications.
It also affected critical services such as obtaining birth certificates, the NTSA driver’s licenses, passports, which was just but a tip of the iceberg.
