DCI Summons Nyaribari Chache MP For Keumbu Violence On Linda Mwananchi
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has summoned Nyaribari Chache, a Member of Parliament, and Zaheer Jhanda in connection with the attack on Linda Mwananchi’s convoy in Kisii on Friday, July 3.
On Sunday, July 5, the DCI said that Jhanda had been summoned to a police station to provide a statement on the attacks.
The summons comes as the DCI continues to broaden its investigation into the Friday incident during a campaign trip in the area, in which several vehicles in a convoy were stoned and damaged.
“The Hon. Zaheer Jhanda, MP for Nyaribari Chache, has this morning been summoned to appear before the Kisii County DCI office in connection with the ongoing investigations,” NPS said in a statement.

According to the statement, the MP was compelled to appear at the Kisii County DCI headquarters to assist with ongoing investigations to determine the complete circumstances of the occurrence.
The summons comes after a group of armed youth was captured on Friday in a video that has since gone viral on social media, pelting stones at the Edwin Sifuna-led convoy.
Meanwhile, some are captured armed with weapons, targeting the vehicles as police just looked on.
Iβve watched this clip of goons pelting stones at Edwin Sifunaβs and his Linda Mwananchi motorcade yesterday in Keumbu, Kisii County, while shouting βTutamββ¦and half of me canβt stop but wonder; does such acts of violence help the βTutamβ camp or hurt them?
