DETAILS Of Planned Gachagua’s US Trip For 2027 Polls Strategy
Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, has announced that he will travel to the United States this Wednesday alongside his wife Dorcas Rigathi.
While speaking during a church service at PEFA Church in Karatina on August 23, he revealed that the trip is aimed at charting the way forward for his political future ahead of the 2027 General Election.
He disclosed that he intends to spend time interacting with different communities abroad during his stay in America.
“On Wednesday this week, my wife and I will travel to the United States to plan for the mountain’s future,” Gachagua stated.
“I want to go there and interact with the whites and fellow blacks for a while.”
He noted that the visit would last a while, without giving an exact date for his return to the country.
This trip will mark his second international trip this year, after travelling to the United Kingdom on May 6 for a shortened diaspora and funds mobilisation tour.
Thus, in his absence, he has directed allies like the likes of the Nyandarua Senator John Methu, to hold the fort at home.
The DCP leader explained that his extended stay abroad is deliberate, citing a need to make independent political decisions.
According to him, being away from the country will shield him from external pressures that often influence major political calls.
Gachagua stated that some of the decisions he needs to make cannot be arrived at while he remains within reach of certain influences back home.

“And I have a reason why I will be travelling for an extended period,” Gachagua stated.
“When I am here, there are decisions that I cannot make due to external influence. Therefore, I want to make decisions without undue influence.”
This announcement comes after he is set to officially conclude his extended Wamunyoro political consultation meetings on Monday, August 24.
Gachagua had previously added a 10-day extension to his initial 45-day retreat and is hosting his final batch of delegations before wrapping up.
He, however, assured his supporters that he would not be entirely cut off from developments in the country during his time away.
In his absence, the former Deputy President said his team has been given the go-ahead to reach out to him should any pressing issues arise.
