DCI Detectives Find Decomposing Body In Kakamega Following Alleged Theft By Lover
Detectives in Kakamega are looking into an incident in which the body of a middle-aged man was found decomposing at his home, weeks after he allegedly sold a plot of land.
Eshibikhwa area assistant chief Emmanuel Shikanda confirmed the incident.
Vitalis Mulunga, a neighbour familiar with the case, stated that they were informed of the body’s discovery by the assistant chief and immediately sought assistance from local police.
Neighbours noticed a stench coming from the house and discovered Fredrick Imbugwa’s body in bed.
Shikhoti police officers arrived on the scene and transported the body to a facility in Kakamega, where investigations began.
Mr. Imbugwa’s family told the media that they believe he killed himself after claiming to have lost money to the woman he was living with.
“Tulipouliza familia, walisema kuwa marehemu alikuwa ameuza shamba, lakini alikuwa amepigia dada yake simu akisema ati atajitoa uhai sababu ule mwanmke anaishi na yeye amemuibia pesa,” Mulunga, a neighbour said.
Prior to the macabre discovery, the deceased allegedly sold a portion of his land.
In a phone call with his sister, he claimed to have lost the money to his estranged lover and threatened to commit suicide.
The family is now awaiting the results of a postmortem to learn the truth about their kin’s death.
