2 Police Officers Among Notorious Poachers Arrested With Ivory Stolen From Commissioner’s Office
According to Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo, the officer and his accomplice were arrested after being caught using a motorbike to transport ivory stolen from the Nakuru County Commissioner’s office.
Following the arrests, Odingo addressed the media from the Nakuru Central Police Station.
This came after members of the public reported suspicious activity.
Police recovered 10 kilograms of ivory, a gun, and 30 rounds of ammunition during the arrest of the two.
“When we arrived at Posta, members of the public informed us that the two seemed suspicious as they were ferrying two bags on their motorbikes of registration number KMFE 674Z,” said Odingo.

“Our officers immediately followed them and upon interrogation, we found them with bags carrying the ivory weighing about 10 kilograms.”
The police commander confirmed that investigations have begun and that the suspects will be held accountable if found guilty.
The other two suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery in the town. The four are currently in police custody, cooling their heels.
