Raila Arrives At State House As Atleast 5 African Presidents Grace His AUC Bid Launch
Raila Odinga, the opposition leader and Kenya’s candidate for the Africa Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship, has arrived at State House in Nairobi.
Raila arrived at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary, was there to greet the leader, who was accompanied by his wife Ida.
They later posed for a photo before being led to a holding room.
President William Ruto is scheduled to officially announce his candidacy for the position in a ceremony attended by at least six African presidents who are already in the country.
On Monday night, government spokesman Isaac Mwaura confirmed that several heads of state will attend the event in Nairobi, but provided no additional information.

“Tomorrow we are launching the bid of Raila Odinga to be the AUC chair at State House and the President of the Republic of Kenya is a champion for reforms at the AU,” he said.
“He took over from Paul Kagame and you saw people coming here in droves. We’ll have several presidents tomorrow for example.”
South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir arrived in Nairobi on Monday evening.
Salva Kiir is the current Chairperson of the East African Community.
Salim Mvurya, Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade, and Industry, received him.

Cabinet Secretaries and ODM leaders are also in attendance.
They were seen having some lighthearted moments at the state pavilion, which was decorated with AU flags, including those of Kenya and the East African Community.
Raila arrived with a convoy of several vehicles.
He had earlier met with a group of his party’s leaders at a Nairobi hotel before his motorcade arrived at State House under tight security.
This is Raila’s second visit to State House since President William Ruto’s election.
