Kenya Police, NTSA In Search Of Matatu Captured Driven Dangerously With Students On Board

Police and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) have launched a manhunt for a van that was caught on video driving dangerously while transporting students to an unknown location.

The vehicle, a white van with the registration number KDG 056B, was spotted driving at high speeds while students hung precariously.

Kenyans have condemned the driver of the vehicle for endangering the lives of innocent people.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows the driver operating the vehicle recklessly, with schoolgirls hanging out while dressed in school uniforms and others dangling their legs outside the window.

The driver is seen conversing with passengers, one of whom is also dangerously hanging out of the moving car.

Initial NTSA investigations reveal that the vehicle is registered as a commercial matatu, with its inspection set to expire on April 17, 2025.

However, it is not linked to any known SACCO. Further investigation revealed that AD Genius Limited operates the vehicle under a road service license (RSL).

The NTSA and the National Police Service (NPS) are actively looking for the vehicle’s owner, and both the driver and the passenger are now wanted for traffic violations.

Authorities urge motorists to exercise caution, especially as schools reopen this week.
