Morara Kebaso Issues IG Kanja Demands On Goons Who Roughed Him Up At Bomas
Morara Kebaso, a lawyer turned activist, has called on police Inspector General Douglas Kanja and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Mohamed Amin to arrest the goons who attacked him in Bomas, Kenya, on Friday.
In a press briefing at his Nairobi home, flanked by family members, Kanja’s spokesperson urged him to charge the perpetrators immediately.
“The IG and your team, where are those people who attacked Kebaso before the media? Can we see them being arraigned in court? That is our request,” the family spokesperson stated while a frail Kebaso looked on.
“We are here to condemn what happened at the Bomas of Kenya when the young man Morara was attacked.”

Kebaso was attacked on Friday while in Kenya’s Bomas for a public exercise on the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
He was barred from entering the venue but was eventually allowed in with his security guaranteed. Hell broke loose as he was preparing to take to the stage to give his opinions.
Goons, who are thought to have been paid, threw chairs and roughed up the activist as he left the venue. Morara sustained injuries to his body.
The family reminded the perpetrators that Kebaso has a family and deserves to be respected and protected as any Kenyan citizen.
“Kebaso has a family where he is coming from, he has a region where he comes from,” added the spokesperson.

The family lamented that the violence directed at Morara was orchestrated by some members of Parliament who had initially barred him from entering the venue before attacking him.
“People could hear members of Parliament, fathers of children probably senior to Morara shouting and telling the crowd and their goons to attack Morara,” he added.
The kin noticed Kenya is a peaceful country, and the violence against Morara was unfortunate and should be condemned.
The family stated that it will allow God to avenge them. “Those who attacked Morara Kebaso at Bomas, his blood is calling out. God will revenge on our behalf.”
