KDF Imposter Terrorizing Narok Residents Arrested – Police Confirms

A man was arrested in Narok Town on Friday for impersonating a KDF sergeant after members of the public informed local authorities of their suspicions.

The residents claimed that the man had been terrorising them while posing as a military officer for some time.

A woman who had been living with the suspect for a few days before his arrest told police that he went to undisclosed places of work at night and then spent the entire day sleeping in the house.

While confirming the incident, Narok Central Sub-county commander John Momanyi stated that they believed the woman was unaware of the man’s criminal activities.

“The woman has lived with the man for a few days, she doesn’t know his origin or his real name,” stated Momanyi.

During a thorough search of the residence in an attempt to identify the suspect, the officers discovered several ID cards belonging to various people, as well as uniforms from both the Kenya Airforce and Kenya Army.

Because there were no matches in any of the KDF databases, the suspect was fingerprinted and the information was sent to the National Registration Bureau in order to reveal his true identity.

Members of the public had reported that the man, who was renting a house near Total Estate in Narok, was a member of a criminal gang, which explains the other uniforms discovered in his home.

Momanyi thanked the residents for being vigilant and reporting their concerns to authorities.

He urged landlords to consider their tenants’ backgrounds before allowing them to settle into their communities.

“I call upon landlords to have a database of their tenants. This includes their identification numbers and phone numbers so that it can be easy to detect criminals who live amongst us,” he said.

In recent months, Narok town has been plagued by suspicious murders reported in various parts of the town, leaving residents terrified.

Local authorities speculated that this may have triggered their initial suspicions about the suspect.

In September alone, Narok reported ten bizarre murders, with all of the victims having identical cuts on their bodies.

These actions led police to believe that the killings were committed by a gang using crude weapons to prey on residents at night.

However, police say that key suspects in the murders have already been arrested and reported to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) awaiting court arraignment.
