Kenyan Resort Treasured by Billionaires Ranked the Best in Africa

The Billionaire Resort, a luxurious high-end facility in Kenya, received a prestigious award at the World Travel Awards 2024.

The resort, located in Malindi, won the award for Africa’s Leading Boutique Resort in the resort category, beating out other high-end resorts across the continent.

Billionaire Resort & Retreat is a favorite among have-yachts not only in Africa but also around the world, with international guests flocking to the resort for vacation.

The resort, owned by former Formula One driver Flavio Briatoire, prides itself on being one of the most exotic spots on Kenya’s coast, offering high-end global cuisines.

According to the company’s mission statement on its website, Billionaires Resort is hellbent on providing high performance to its clientele.

“The cutting-edge design of the Resort focuses on a mission of high quality and high performance and it reflects the synthesis of tradition and innovation using local materials,” read a statement on the resort’s website in part.

Visitors can unwind while enjoying breathtaking views of the beach. Similarly, guests can relax in the restaurant, swimming pool, spa, or on the Kalifa boat.

Interestingly, the resort’s beach features a number of private gazebos neatly arranged facing the ocean. Visitors are served by a personal butler.

Briatoire also owns the Lion in the Sun Resort, which is located opposite the resort. A night in the villas costs around €300 (approximately Ksh42,135), depending on the season.

The same awards recognized Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) as Africa’s Leading Airport.

Similarly, Kenya received three awards for being the continent’s Leading Airline 2024, Africa’s Leading Airline-Business Class 2024, and Africa’s Leading Airline Brand 2024.

Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, has been named Africa’s Leading Business Travel Destination for 2024 while neighboring Tanzania has been named Africa’s Leading Destination.

Similarly, the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel at JKIA was recognized as Africa’s leading airport hotel in 2024. World Travel Awards were held to recognize excellence in the aviation industry.
