Former Western Kenya MP Is Dead
Former Kimilili MP Suleiman Kasuti Murunga has died.
Bungoma Women Representative Catherine Wambilianga confirmed the former lawmaker’s death, stating that Murunga died on Wednesday evening after a short illness.

The former MP, who represented Kimilili from 2013 to 2017 on a Ford-Kenya ticket, died while being treated at Nairobi Hospital.
Current Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa remembered him as a true gentleman.
“With a heavy heart, I wish to give my sincere condolences to my people of Kimilili Constituency for the loss of our former Member of Parliament Hon. Suleiman Kasuti Murunga,” Barasa wrote.
“My deepest sympathies are with his family and friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, the Ford Kenya party leader, praised the former MP as a dedicated leader.
“It is with profound sorrow and sadness that I express my condolences on the passing of Hon. Suleiman Murunga, former MP for Kimilili,” he noted.
“His tenure from 2013 to 2017 was marked by dedication and unwavering commitment to the people he served.”
Wetang’ula also praised the former legislator for his contributions to the Ford Kenya Party. Murunga served as the party’s Director of Elections.

“As a member of Ford Kenya, he not only represented his constituents with integrity but also played a pivotal role as the party’s Director of Elections, contributing significantly to the political landscape of our nation,” mourned Wetang’ula.
“Murunga was a champion for the needs of his community, advocating tirelessly for development and social justice.”
Subsequently, the Speaker urged Kimilili residents and regional leaders to honor Murunga’s legacy by continuing his work and promoting the community’s interests.

Eugene Wamalwa, a prominent Mulembe politician, expressed condolences to the former MP’s family and the people of Kimilili on his death.
