Gladys Shollei, Former Governor And 45 Other Public Officials Face Graft Charges
According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), 47 public officials have been charged with graft totaling Ksh2.1 billion in the most recent corruption report.
The panel reportedly handed over the files to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), who is anticipated to make a judgment on the next steps.
Gladys Boss Shollei, the current deputy speaker of the National Assembly, is one of several high-profile officials facing prosecution for alleged bribery while serving as the Judiciary Chief Registrar.
11 years ago, Gladys Boss Shollei was sacked from JSC over a loss of Sh2.2 billion at the Judiciary.

Shollei is suspected of improperly purchasing the Chief Justice’s house for Ksh310 million in 2013. It remains unoccupied to date.
EACC suggested that she and her then-deputy be charged with abuse of office and failure to design a project.
Former Wajir Governor Mohamed Mohamoud is also facing allegations of tender irregularities worth Ksh1.2 billion.
His wife, daughter, and senior aide, as well as 12 firms associated with him, have all been accused in the corruption case.
Payments to the firms were allegedly made without supporting paperwork, and as a result, all 12 directors are facing legal action.

Alex Tolgos, the former governor of Elgeyo Marakwet, faces identical charges of Ksh1.8 million in tender violations, conflict of interest, and unauthorized purchase of property.
He is accused of carrying out this arrangement by procuring petroleum products from a company linked with him and a close associate.
The commission is also investigating three senior accountants from the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) for similar accusations in a scam involving Ksh274 million.
The EACC also recommended Parliament expedite a conflict of interest bill in order to ensure that similar incidents are handled effectively.
