‘We Remain Solidly Behind Gachagua!’ – Governor Kahiga Tells Gov’t Apologists
Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has warned that anyone in the region who votes against impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will be labeled as a traitor.
During a Sunday service in Nyeri County, Governor Kahiga stated that the region has pledged its commitment to Gachagua and will totally back him in the 2027 elections.
“Hapa hatutaki wasaliti. Kuchukua hicho kiti wewe ni msaliti na sisi tuko nyuma ya Gachagua. We remain solidly behind him,” Kahiga noted.
The Governor also warned all regional Cabinet Secretary (CS) candidates to remain in Nairobi and not visit Nyeri.
He further stated that the individuals will be labeled as traitors and will not be welcomed for cooperating with the state.
“Kama kuna kitu kitalewa Nyeri ni kimoja na ni cha President. Sisi hatutaki mawaziri. Tunyang’anywe Deputy President tuletewe mawaziri?” he posed.

Kahiga also encouraged Gachagua’s political enemy to stop haunting him, claiming that he has already left active politics and should not be the target of political hostility.
He referred to the attack on Gachagua in Limuru on Thursday, November 28, in which a gang of armed goons disturbed and attacked attendance.
“If you see us being silent leave us alone, we are following what we have been told to do. If he says we speak then we will but for now, he has said we remain quiet. You impeached him now leave him alone,” he said.
In an interview with NTV, Gachagua described the attack as a “well-planned attempt on my life,” citing the absence of uniformed police officers and the removal of his security detail a week prior.

He further said that cops in unmarked Subarus stopped automobiles trying to exit the burial.
Gachagua further stated that the Kiambu County security force was implicated in the incident by enabling the criminals to join the burial as early as 8 a.m.
He claimed that senior county security officials gathered at Tigoni Police Station the day before and agreed to establish a “safe corridor” for the assailants.
Gachagua’s impeachment has produced political anxieties, separating politicians into sections, with some defending Gachagua and others praising President William Ruto for the measure.
