Parliament Announces Dates For Vetting Of Ruto’s New CS Nominees
The Committee on Appointments will review President William Ruto’s new Cabinet Secretary nominees on January 14, 2025.
According to a schedule issued by National Assembly Clerk Samuel Njoroge, the activity would take place at County Hall, located within the Parliament Buildings.
The three are Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture and Livestock Development), William Kabogo (Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy), and Lee Kinyanjui (Investments, Trade, and Industry).
The new Ambassador nominees, including former CSs Margaret Nyambura, Dr. Andrew Karanja, and Ababu Namwamba, as well as former Deputy Inspector General Noor Gabow, are also set to be vetted.
The four will be reviewed by the Departmental Committee on Defense, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations.

President Ruto nominated them to serve in Ghana, Brazil, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)/United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON), and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, respectively.
They will be vetted on January 10, 2025, in Committee Room 9, 1st Floor, Main Parliament Building.

On January 9, 2025, the Departmental Committee on Labour will also assess eight nominees for the Public Service Commission (PSC), including Vice-Chairperson Mary Kimonye.
The National Assembly Clerk requested that members of the public submit any representations they may have in the form of written declarations under oath (affidavits) with supporting evidence challenging the appropriateness of the individuals nominated for the aforementioned offices.
“The memoranda may be forwarded to the Clerk of the National Assembly, P.O. Box 41842-00100, Nairobi; hand-delivered to the Office of the Clerk, Main Parliament Buildings, Nairobi; or emailed to cna@parliament.go.ke to be received on or before 3rd January 2025 by 5.00 p.m.” Samuel Njoroge said.
