Pastor Ng’ang’a In Hot Soup For Sharing Lousy Rape ‘Jokes’ To Stunned Congregation
Pastor James Ng’ang’a, a controversial preacher, has once again sparked outrage on the internet after making some troubling comments during one of his regularly charged Sunday sermons.
Trivializing rape is unacceptable. We condemn Pastor Ng'ang'a's harmful remarks and call for accountability as we continue the fight against Gender-Based Violence. Read our full statement attached below.#KomeshaDhuluma pic.twitter.com/IgHQ4xYzD7

On Sunday, January 19, the founder of the Neno Evangelism Centre faced criticism from a sector of Kenyans for appearing to insult women who, he claimed, were obsessed with beauty trends yet were nonetheless unattractive.
Ng’ang’a, speaking to an unusually silent assembly, ripped into women who use cosmetics to improve their attractiveness.
“You take too much time beautifying yourself and then spend an entire day and no one even bothers to approach you. Women are getting raped and you couldn’t even get someone who could rape you,” he said.
Ng’ang’a went on to mock these type of women, appearing to shockingly suggest that it would have been much more reasonable if they would, at least, be raped as proof of their attractiveness.
Statements like, "You’re not beautiful, people are being raped, and for you, no one is even raping you," are not only harmful but deeply disrespectful and dehumanizing.

“It would be better if you would be raped. But no one is doing that to you. You don’t have anyone to rape you, no one to hit on you…and if they hit on you, they’re just playing around with you,” he mocks.
“And yet you took two hours in front of a mirror fixing yourself. The problem is not on the outside… It’s in the inside…”
He even suggested that despite their efforts, they were still unattractive and unsuitable for rape.

Pastor Ng’ang’a, no stranger to controversy, has frequently been chastised for his sexist remarks and thoughtless opinions, particularly about women.
For example, while criticizing random people with whom he disagrees, he usually advises them to ask their moms who their partner is, implying that he has had sexual encounters with his critics’ mothers.
