  • Lucy was discovered dead in her home early this morning.

Benjamin Mwanthi, the Uasin Gishu county police commander, confirmed the death.

“My officers were at the home,” Mwanthi said. “We are investigating the cause of the death and will give more details.”

Lucy was discovered dead in her home early this morning.

Police, local leaders, family members, and friends have gathered at the house where the body has yet to be removed.

Lucy Ng’endo Chomba was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket after her late husband Peter Chomba passed away due to breathing complications.

During her victory speech, Chomba promised to complete all of her late husband’s projects.

“I want to thank all my supporters for turning up in numbers. I promise that I will not let you down. I will ensure that I serve all equally whether they voted for me or not,” she noted.

During the late Chomba’s burial, Ruto, then Deputy President, urged other aspirants to put their ambitions on hold so that she could complete her term.

“It’s good if we allow Mama Lucy to have this seat so that she completes the term of our departed brother Chomba. Therefore, we’re going to have discussions on how to implement this,” Ruto stated.
