‘They Are Not Protestors’ – LSK President Demands The Arrest Of Goons Infiltrating Protests
Faith Odhiambo, President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), has urged security agencies to act quickly and arrest criminals who are infiltrating peaceful protests in Nairobi.
In a video shared by the firebrand lawyer, the alleged criminals are seen harassing and stealing from citizens before fleeing the scene.
The LSK president condemned the incident and urged authorities to arrest those involved.
“These are not protesters but goons. These are the ones who should be arrested,” she wrote.

The latest development comes amid growing anti-government sentiment in Nairobi. Kisii, Kisumu, Migori, Trans Nzoia, Mombasa, and Nakuru, among others.
Nairobi’s central business district was deserted as police clashed with protesters.
Despite a court order issued last week, police used tear gas canisters to disperse the crowd. A section of Protestors were also arrested.
The youths at the center of the anti-government protests have promised to picket today, July 2, 2024, and Thursday, July 4, 2024, to express their grievances and dissatisfaction with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Among the complaints are overspending in the Kenya Kwanza administration, corruption, embezzlement of public funds, and public displays of luxury using public funds by leaders, among others.
Last week, protesters held demonstrations against the contentious Finance Bill 2024 on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, forcing President William Ruto to withdraw the bill.
39 people died as a result of police brutality during the protests.
“Data from our records indicates that 39 people have died and 361 [have been] injured in relation to the protests countrywide,” the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) said in a statement.
