Dismissed CS’s Brother Describes Their Conversation After The Cabinet Firing

Professor Jonah Kindiki has revealed the conversation he had with his brother, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki after the latter was dismissed from the Cabinet.

Speaking in an interview with KTN News, Kindiki’s brother revealed that he contacted the former CS following the President’s announcement.

Although he did not want to discuss the intricate exchanges that occurred during the conversation, he did mention that he consoled his brother.

“Yes, those are family matters. We need to distinguish between a brother and a Cabinet Secretary. I told him pole,” he stated.

Meanwhile, he applauded the president’s bold decision to dismiss the Cabinet.

He claimed that the move demonstrated that the President was responding to Kenyans’ concerns.

Nonetheless, he believes Ruto may reconsider some members of his previous Cabinet during the reconstitution.

“Looking at our political space, some of the people who were in the Cabinet and were ineffective will have no room to survive.

“If one of them is to be reconsidered in the next cabinet, the merit will count,” he added.

Unlike his former colleagues, Kindiki has yet to issue a statement regarding his dismissal from Cabinet. Following Ruto’s election victory, the former Interior Secretary was appointed to head the docket.

Notably, the former CS was a contender for UDA’s running mate position. However, he lost to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

As a result, his appointment as CS was viewed as a reward for his loyalty to the President, given his involvement in the UDA campaigns.

Kindiki also served as Ruto’s chief agent in the previous elections.
