‘Exceptional Competence & Integrity!’ – Mudavadi Promises High Calibre New Cabinet
A seismic shift is taking place as Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi reveals President William Ruto’s determination to form a new Cabinet of “exceptional competence and integrity.”
This announcement comes after the dramatic dismissal of all Cabinet Secretaries, indicating a robust reform strategy aimed at restoring public trust and reshaping governance.
During a critical diplomatic engagement, Mudavadi articulated the President’s vision for an inclusive and representative government for Kenya’s diverse population.

He emphasized that the upcoming nominees will not only exhibit high levels of competence but will also demonstrate integrity—essential qualities in the face of rising public expectations and pressing national challenges.
Mudavadi’s remarks followed Ruto’s decisive action on July 11, which resulted in the dismissal of Cabinet Secretaries and the Attorney-General, leaving only the Prime Cabinet Secretary and the Foreign Affairs CS.
This is a strategic use of presidential power aimed at revitalizing the Executive and reinforcing public trust in its leadership.
“The President is steadfast in his resolve to deepen public participation, fostering a governance structure that champions equity across various social strata,” Mudavadi stated.
By advocating for a broad-based government, the President hopes to speed up the implementation of transformative initiatives critical to increasing job opportunities and stimulating economic growth.
Mudavadi emphasized that the reform process is inextricably linked to national unity, peace, and prosperity, which aligns with the administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
This approach is intended to reflect ordinary Kenyans’ aspirations, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in the governance process.
The Prime Cabinet Secretary assured international partners that, despite the Cabinet overhaul, government operations would continue unabated.
Principal Secretaries and relevant officials are ready to oversee the state’s operations while maintaining diplomatic relations and ongoing projects.
“This restructuring is not merely an administrative exercise; it is a profound commitment to genuine governance that prioritises the will of the people,” Mudavadi asserted.
The Cabinet reshuffle is viewed as a direct response to citizens’ demands for transparency and accountability within the government.
