Education CS nominee Claims To Have Educated Over 600 Children
Education Cabinet Secretary nominee Julius Ogamba has assured MPs that he is enthusiastic about the public sector.
In his testimony before the Committee on Appointments, Ogamba stated that he comes from a humble background and has seen the power of education.
“I am very passionate about the public sector. As I sit here, I have educated over 600 children, they have gone to various universities and schools,” he said.
“I know when you disadvantage a child, you have taken away their life. Education is the only thing that can help children in this country to move to where they are supposed to be.”

The nominee stated that education is the only way for Kenyan children to get to where they need to be.
“If you are in the sector, you must ask yourself the decision that I am making, is for the benefit and interest of the child,” he added.
“If the answer is no and you are in the public sector, then you are in the wrong place.”
Ogamba has addressed concerns about his suitability to lead the Education Ministry, stating that his perceived lack of experience in the public sector should not be a source of concern.
