SCAM CITY: Eldoret Residents Decry To DCI After A Multi-Million Forex Scam
More victims of a forex trade investment scam in Eldoret are coming forward to expose Springmark Investments Company, which is accused of defrauding hundreds of county residents.

The accusations come as new allegations against another similar company surface.
The victims also blame a local church for allowing Springmark to use its platform and gain access to its members.

A church service is currently taking place at Dominion Church in Action Estate, Eldoret Town.
Some of the worshippers at this church are counting their losses after one man, Ambrose Makech Abuti, duped them into giving him their earnings to invest in forex trading, promising handsome returns.
What they got instead were tears, heartbreak, and near-financial ruin.
Susan Waititu is one of those who were persuaded to invest their hard-earned money in Springmark Investment Limited, a deposit lending investment company.
Her investment was expected to yield 18% monthly returns. She began with a $240,000 investment and gradually increased the amount each month.
To enable her kin to benefit from the potential boom, she was quickly joined in the investment company by her family, including her blind brother, who invested his Ksh 1.2 million.
“We were many, a total of about 5.7 million,” she said.

William Getumbe, an Eldoret-based music producer, succumbed to the same enticement as Susan and hundreds of others.
Getumbe, a Dominion Church congregant, also blames the church’s leadership for allowing Ambrose to deceive its members.
Getumbe said, “He was given a platform; the pastor would speak briefly, then Ambrose would talk, and the pastor would tell the congregation that if they didn’t invest, they were not supporting or aligned with the church.”
Getumbe adds that Ambrose was not the only one to persuade Eldoret residents to invest in forex trading.
His brother-in-law is also said to have founded another company, in which tens of people invested.
Those impacted by the scam claim their lives have been turned upside down, with money lost to the company and loans piling up by the day.
Susan and Getumbe, among others, have criticized law enforcement for failing to act and hold the perpetrators accountable.
They claim that each time he is arrested, the suspects will be released. When Citizen TV visited the church on Sunday, the leadership declined to speak with them.
